a novel composite ebike (frame and front fork) prototype, designed by an ex-Oracle Team USA composites engineer. Efficient composite manufacturing has been a big focus for me.
an AI-based ebike motor drive controller (nerra OS), developed as the topic of a Masters thesis at Waikato University, NZ
an ebike simulator, developed as the topic of a Masters thesis at Waikato University, NZ
a novel on-device Natural Language Processing (NLP) system - will enhance rider safety, whilst simultaneously allowing more granular ’hands-free’ interaction via voice user interface (VUI). This is a two year post doc research project which commenced September 2022 at ETS in Montreal, Canada
More recently, I conceived of an approach to making a structural battery using an automated composite manufacturing technology to integrate a novel battery and/or supercapacitor technology. I'm now engaged with two international research institutions that are willing to collaborate in order to develop a structural battery ebike frame.
via a collaborative framework with KU Leuven & Siemens PLM in Belgium, a masters student made a study of our composite frame and fork in order to develop a methodology for a sustainable composite using basalt continuous fiber.
